Thermowells (Temperature Sensor Pockets)
Our Thermowells (Temperature Sensor Pockets) are designed to offer maximum protection to your temperature sensors (thermocouple protection and RTD wells) in demanding industrial environments. Manufactured with high-quality materials such as stainless steel and exotic alloys, they guarantee excellent corrosion resistance and withstand high pressure conditions. Their optimized design ensures efficient thermal transfer, allowing for precise and rapid measurements without compromising sensor integrity. Available in various configurations, including threaded thermowell, flanged thermowell, and weld-in thermowell, they adapt perfectly to the specific needs of your process.
The temperature sensor pocket or protection sheath is a critical component in any industrial temperature measurement system. When the process involves high pressure, high flow velocity, or corrosive fluids, the bimetallic thermometer's protection tube alone is not sufficient. Our thermowell sleeve provides a robust barrier that isolates the sensor from the process medium, allowing for instrument maintenance, calibration, or replacement without the need to stop the operation or empty the system. We offer a wide range of profiles, from the straight thermowell ideal for low-pressure applications, to the tapered thermowell and stepped thermowell, designed to offer high structural strength and reduce thermal response time. Furthermore, for applications requiring the highest hygiene standards, we have the sanitary thermowell. Each unit can be customized in terms of insertion length and immersion length, and we offer wake frequency calculation services to guarantee safety and durability in turbulent flow conditions.

FAQ
What is the difference between a straight, tapered, and stepped thermowell, and how do I choose the appropriate one?
The straight thermowell has the same diameter throughout its insertion length; it is economical and suitable for low-pressure and low-flow velocity applications. The tapered thermowell decreases its diameter towards the tip, offering an excellent combination of high structural strength (ideal for high pressure and high-velocity fluids) and a fast thermal response time. The stepped thermowell reduces its diameter abruptly near the tip, providing the fastest response time among the three, being useful in applications where reading speed is critical, although with slightly less structural strength than the tapered one. The choice depends on the pressure conditions, fluid velocity, and the thermal response needs of your process.
